We are excited to welcome Dr. Barbara K. Lipska, Ph.D., Director of the Human Brain Collection Core at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), for a special speaker event. Dr. Lipska is a leading expert in brain research, focusing on mental illness and brain development, particularly schizophrenia. Her work includes studying postmortem human brains and animal models to better understand the brain's complexities.
Dr. Lipska has been with NIMH since 1989 and has published over 120 papers on mental health research. She has also become known for her personal experience with mental illness, which has given her a unique perspective on both the science and the human side of brain health.
In addition to her work, Dr. Lipska is a dedicated marathon runner and triathlete.
